Dress Up Clothes or Cute clothes
or dressing up cute girls in cute clothes...

Miss M is modeling her new candy dress - it looked so cute with her pink converse shoes.
When we were at my sisters the girls had so much fun playing dress up.
I was happy that even Miss A let me dress her up.
I am thinking I might have to borrow that cute little witch dress for Halloween.
Isn't miss E a cute fairy princess!

I Heart ...

this table centerpiece

I have been going through my magazines and have come across some pretty cute ideas - this was one of my favorites.

I totally want to have a party so I can decorate with this.

I am thinking a "Pink Ladies" themed party at a bowling alley for Miss M

From the June-July 2008 Rachel Ray magazine:
Derek McLane might be the set designer for the musical Grease on Broadway, but his stellar centerpiece is simply out of this world. Inspired by the hues of the iconic Pink Ladies and T-Bird jackets, McLane turned a funnel on its end and attached painted foam balls to it with skewers. We love it for a kids' party—or any bash that needs an eye-popping splash of color.

BYOB - It's a Tupperware Party!

Bring your own Bowl!

I wanted to post about the fun week I had at my sisters with her two cute kids, and mine.
Instead we are having a Tupperware party at my house!
At least that's what it could be if my kids could actually puke in the bowl.
Instead I am cleaning up floors, clothes, little bodies etc.
But really, how does a 15 month old baby tell you she is going to throw up? At least Miss M can tell somewhat...but we still have not made it into our bowl...

so today I am VERY thankful for wood floors, Lysol, towels, Dove soap, hot water and a washing machine! And a Daddy who is on his way home with Gatorade!

Saturday and it's a HEAT WAVE!

Kids eat free ALL WEEKEND at Steak and Shake so we grabbed a late lunch.

Then, we played outside in the snow!

I mean really, who could pass up this BALMY Chicago weather?

I mean, it was a whole 35 degrees today,
I only put my vest on - no jacket hooray!
See HEAT wave!

(Miss M sprayed M O M in the snow)

I filled some spray bottles with water and food coloring and we had fun
spray painting the snow.

Although it really made K and I hungry for Hawaii's Shave Ice! mmmmm so yum!
oh, May you are so far away! (that is when we are heading to HAWAII)

(I also purposely did not color any water with the yellow food coloring - I didn't want yellow snow-
if you know what I mean ; )

my Random 25

I was tagged on Facebook, but thought I would add it to my blog - just in case we are not yet
friends on facebook...

1. I LOVE aprons! Every time I see one, I want to buy it or attempt to make it.

2. I love notebooks and pens, I love doodling and drawing, writing and coloring.

3. I have three Callings at church.

4.I love my blog - especially changing the back ground and the pictures on my header.

5. I have postpartum depression.

6. I like to make lists. I get satisfaction from checking things off.

7. I say I am done having children, but secretly deep down inside I would LOVE one more.

8. I want a big SUV - a car that won't get stuck in the alley when it is covered with deep snow.

9. I love to sing, but wish I was brave enough to do it.

10. I like to organize, but hate cleaning.

11. I wish I had more motivation to take care of me.

12. I love to decorate for holidays.

13. I would love to be more crafty.

14. I love to snorkel. And body board....

15. BUT I am terrified of Sharks! I always feel like I am swimming in shark infested water.
Or if we are island hopping when we go to Hawaii, I am horrified to fly over the ocean because I KNOW there are sharks! (I also don't care for eels too much)

16. I would like to go an a cruise, but again that whole shark thing REALLY bothers me.

17. I have never been to the Hancock building (and I live so close to it!)

18. I can be a picky eater, and I don't like seafood, fish etc. with the exception that I will eat fish when I am in Hawaii - go figure!

19. I have a hard time saying no/telling people no. I really hate to disappoint/let others down. (I guess number three makes sense)

20. I hate going to the dentist. I have never had a cavity or a filling. But I HATE going to the dentist. I always leave in horrible pain and it lasts for at least a week.

21. I don't really like to fly - which is too bad because my husband works for United. All those wasted benefits...

22. I do not have a pass port, and I have NEVER left the country. Again, waste of those benefits.

23. I can't watch scary movies. We rented the Ring one time and I made Keenan take it back to the video store right away, I didn't even want it in my house. I also had to sleep with the lights on for a while after that.

24. I don't like the sound of people scrapping their food off of their fork when they are eating. it's like nails on a chalk board.

25. I am seriously rethinking about living in Hawaii. I LOVE winter, but Chicago is just too cold.

*I am also a late night person, if I could stay up all night I would.
*I LOVE to use !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know why, I just always type with them!!!
*I don't like to say good-bye to people
*I really hate touching raw meat
*I love being tagged...

I Heart Valentine's

Actually, I think I heart holidays. I really like to decorate for them all.
This year Miss M is REALLY into Valentine's. She goes into my or rather, OUR craft room and makes some everyday.

* She does spell Mommy with an EY, it's her new thing, it's more fancy that way. And after discovering that her name comes from Bob Marley, she has started to sign things,
Love, Bob*

Today, I got this in the mail!
(and Miss M got a CUTE dress from Gymboree - I'll have to get pics of her in it)

thanks mom!!
When Miss A woke up from her nap and saw it. She was all squeals of delight!
"oh gook MommAH, gook it, gook it"
(I am MommAH, and Miss M is ma-ma)

I wish I would have gotten her reaction on video. The other thing I wish I would have recorded today - Miss A discovered my maxi pads. Unwrapped a bunch and stuck them all over herself.
It really was picture worthy!

And
today as I was catching up on my goggle reader
(because it is too stinkin' cold to go and do anything!)
I saw some cute Valentine's stuff...

If I had another baby I would want it to be born in February.
and I would make things like this

found HERE on this blog.

Or maybe for my craft day with my friend Heather, we will make this

found HERE

or this

And then we will make Heart Sugar Cookies!!! YUM!

See I HEART Valentine's DAY/Month

My Many Dreams

I have had very weird dreams lately.
(AND NO I am not pregnant - that is usually when I do have weird dreams).

Friday night my dream was how I was in the Mob. And with out going in to to much detail - I went and cleaned up the messes. I don't like cleaning, so I am not sure why I would clean up after the Mob anyway! And it really wasn't a good dream. I was so close to almost being caught. Always feeling like I was on the run.

I went to to this site HERE and this is what I learned about Mob being in your dreams.

Mob

To see a mob in your dream, represents chaos and disorganization. Your are experiencing a conflict in ideas and interest. It is time to be more assertive and take control of your life.

Another night I was driving a monster truck. Jumping over cars. CRAZY! Since I am not really a thrill seeker.

Truck

To see a truck in your dream, implies that you are overworked. You may be taking on too many tasks and responsibilities and are weighed down.

Last nights it was all about planning a birthday party for Miss M. It was a water park party. In down town Chicago. The Hancock building became a huge water slide.
And all the invitations I sent out were coconuts - real coconuts. Not paper invites.

Coconuts

To see a coconut in your dream, foretells that you will receive an unexpected gift of money.

City To see a city in your dream, signifies a sense of community and your social environment. If you dream of a big city, then it suggests that you need to develop closer ties and relationships. You are feeling alienated and alone

Water slide

To dream that you are on or see a water slide, suggests that you are being swept away by your emotions. You are slowly exploring the realm of your unconscious. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you are going with the flow of things without any objections or resistance.

So, I am experiencing conflicts, and need to take control of my life. I am overworked. I need to develop closer ties and relationships. I am being swept away by my emotions. BUT the good news is, I should be getting a gift of MONEY!!! Any givers out there???

Got a little Crafty

I tried out my new craft space today. Miss M joined me. She started making Valentines for her
"best buddies" (to quote her).

Here is what I did.I did it for a baby shower gift - everyone can use Thank You Cards right?

It felt good to be creative again. It has been a long time since I have done any crafting. It was so nice to have everything in order, easy to get to, and a cute daughter to keep me company.

Craft room in the making

I use to have this great big desk, that I put all of my craft things on and in. But I could never use it, because it always looked like this

So we emptied it and then sold the desk on Craig's list.

Then, my sister gave me these great shelves to hang in the sun room that is off of our bedroom.
And once again my craft stuff sat for a few more months waiting to be used, cared for, organized.

WELL, I got the spring cleaning-need/to be organized/want to work on crafts/bug
and a whole day spent organizing/contemplating/rearranging...

(insert heavenly choir singing)

A NEW AND SOMEWHAT IMPROVED CRAFT AREA!!!

I can't wait to work in there. I know once I start crafting I will need to make some
adjustments, but this is SO much better than it has been.

Maybe now, I will actually use the sizzix machine and letters I bought 2 1/2 years ago!
(notice how they are still in their packages, unopened, needing to be used...)

Seriously, It's cold!

This is a picture of our drain pipe - frozen solid.

And that is why I don't have amazing pictures to share*, or great stories to tell, or adventures** to post about. It is just TOO COLD! And before that, there was just TOO MUCH SNOW!
(just to give you an idea, my shampoo and conditioner are sitting in the windowsill of my
bathroom and I couldn't use them because THEY WERE FROZEN!

Other than that, we are enjoying hanging out at home in our cozies (secret word for pj's). Cuddling under blankets, playing lot's of board games - during nap time so that Miss A doesn't dance on our boards. Today, I even had the girls scrubbing down the out side of the refrigerator and cupboards. I think they are so board from being inside all the time, that they actually had fun scrubbing away!

We did venture out twice this week. Once for kindergarten open house - that's right my little girl starts kindergarten in the fall. There are a TON of forms to fill out. We also have to have eye and dental exams done before she starts.

Our other exciting adventure was to North Western's campus. Miss A is randomly selected for these studies that the child development does. It's quick, the girls have fun playing with toys
and they get to pick out a thank you gift to take home and this week, it helped us get out of the house.

And that about wraps up another exciting week at our house.
I will leave you with a home music video

Monkeying Around from Rebekeh on Vimeo.

*ok, my kids are in the pictures so the are AMAZING!

** and everyday is an adventure especially with Miss A!

But Who's Counting?

2 - the number of times I had to pick up clothes and straighten up her dresser

3 - the number of times the toilet paper had to be
rolled back up

6 - the number of times I had to pick up DVD's scattered around the house

7 - the number of times I swept up little messes like this

24 - the number of hours sleep I need to recoup from today.

Priceless - capturing little moments like this.

Broken Record

Is a term to express something that keeps repeating

yup - that's my day in a nutshell

is the toy room cleaned?
wipe your nose
no, you can not watch tv
eat your food
sit down
please listen
guess you should have eaten your lunch then...

I'm a Meat-a-tarian

I don't think I could ever go vegetarian, I just like a good steak every once in a while.

K played at the Tiki Terrace for New Years Eve. And (by choice) I stayed home with my Granny
and the girls. (We were leaving for GB the next morning.)

The owner of the TT found out that I gave up my husband for the evening - and sent K home with a steak, just for me. SCORE! Asparagus and a stuffed chicken - the chicken was stuffed with crab.

We brought it up to GB with us (and our George Foreman grill so we could grill me up some steak) and had a yummy New Years Day dinner.

As you can see - I wasn't the only one who enjoyed the feast.

(Miss A is saying CHEEESE for the picture)

As a side note - something I have noticed about my girls.
Miss M - loves Hawaiian Food, Sea Food, Rice, Stir Fry, Taro Chips,
Poi - really taking after the Hawaiian in her.

While Miss A enjoys, Meat (steak and summer sausage some of her favorite choices) and potatoes and cheese. Taking after the
Wisconsin side of her.

While I was pregnant with with Miss M, I craved everything Hawaiian.
(and in and out burger which was so unfair!)
With Miss A, I could NOT get enough steak, potatoes and cheese.

However, Miss A LOVES and I mean LOVES Spam. (Miss M doesn't care for it so much.)
Now the love of Spam - that is most certainly the Hawaiian in her!
