Craft room in the making

I use to have this great big desk, that I put all of my craft things on and in. But I could never use it, because it always looked like this

So we emptied it and then sold the desk on Craig's list.

Then, my sister gave me these great shelves to hang in the sun room that is off of our bedroom.
And once again my craft stuff sat for a few more months waiting to be used, cared for, organized.

WELL, I got the spring cleaning-need/to be organized/want to work on crafts/bug
and a whole day spent organizing/contemplating/rearranging...

(insert heavenly choir singing)

A NEW AND SOMEWHAT IMPROVED CRAFT AREA!!!

I can't wait to work in there. I know once I start crafting I will need to make some
adjustments, but this is SO much better than it has been.

Maybe now, I will actually use the sizzix machine and letters I bought 2 1/2 years ago!
(notice how they are still in their packages, unopened, needing to be used...)

Thanks for Sharing and my CHECK list

I know I said no posts this week - but I am rewarding myself with a time out to blog and read my friends blogs-
just a half hour - really I am timing myself : )

My friend Rachael sent me this article here in response to my Time Out post. I REALLY liked it and wanted to share it with the rest of you. (Thanks RH!)

And as for my organizing and cleaning check list - I have made much progress!

It isn't my most favorite thing to do - that is why I buy into those latest gadgets - but
I even was on my hands and knees scrubbing my kitchen floor. It looks SO good - I
feel as if it is really clean this time around, not just a spread the dirt, dust and grime
around the floor clean...(and now maybe Miss A wont have black knees from crawling
on my kitchen floor - ooh gross!)

and there is something so satisfying about checking off items on my list!

Kitchen -CHECK!
Pantry - CHECK!
Kitchen floor - CHECK!
Girls Bedroom -CHECK!
Sort clothes summer/fall for girls - CHECK!
Start Garage sale pile - CHECK!
Start Food Storage - CHECK!

also by organizing my pantry I realized I have a good amount of Food Storage and
we are organizing it onto shelves in our basement, that is also very satisfying!
So instead of Spring cleaning like most people do, I am end of summer cleaning...

my other goals this week
Dinning room/craft desk
Closet/new craft room
Dresser
Pack for Green Bay!

also before September ends*...
72 hour kits - I need to put it together!
I have been collecting items for it, but I need to put it together.
But I DO have one in my car

*September is National Preparedness Month
Bee Prepared

OK BACK to WORK!

Happy Tuesday everyone : )

Can't get enough of...

As K and I are working hard on uncluttering (is that a word) our home and fixing up areas, adding a craft desk in our sun room/closet. It came to my attention that there are a few things that I apparently can not get enough of....
  • Crayons! - I admit, I LOVE a new box of crayons! Seriously, I have to avoid the crayon, paper, pen supplies isles at Target or any other store...
  • Socks - Love 'em, have a ton of 'em
  • Paper, ie. note books, cards, plain paper, patterned paper, sticky pads, note pads, computer paper, scrap book paper even scrap paper...
  • Pens - this I have known for awhile - I use to collect them so I still have a pretty big collection (hey I worked at a pharmacy and the Drug Reps were always bringing me fun pens!)
  • Little boxes - picture boxes, jewelry boxes, trinket boxes, keep sake boxes, storage boxes (like clear bins - shoe box size) other kinds of storage boxes - mostly for scrap booking items...
  • Bubbles - especially in the spring/summer time, and I like all the bubble makers that come with them tooThis is my favorite brand - they make the best bubbles! Gazillion
  • Aprons - I seem to have a lot of those too, and for all sorts of different seasons - love em!

(we won't get into the things I have in storage, like Tupperware, Plates, Christmas decorations, Halloween decorations, pictures, Cd's, games - oh and lets not forget the Easter Eggs...)

When did I become such a collector of things OK junk? It's official,
I am a pack rat!

So tell me, what do you have a lot of?
