You know what's fun?

When you are already having a GREAT day, and you run into a friend at Wendy's and then have lunch together - that is really fun!

Almost Leaving on a Jet Plane

Tonight I was supposed to leave on that jet plan and head off to Utah to spend a week with my family. But Last night I discovered that Miss M has pink eye! UGH! Luckily I have some friends in high places and I was able to get an RX for her eye or as the case is today eyes. And since I wanted her to have at least 24 hours on the drops we are leaving on that jet plane tomorrow...as long as the sore throat she is complaining about goes away.
Can I just say pink eye is
Super gross
!
Especially when they wake up in the morning and their eyelids
are glued shut!
And especially when your child has BIG
BEAUTIFUL FULL eyelashes....

May the Force Be With You

Thursday I was able to watch my friends cute kids while she went to a parent teacher conference. Miss M had preschool so she wasn't able to come with me. I have to say this was the most fun I have had watching her kids - I mean I always have fun, but usually Mr. G and Miss M run off and play and then it's just Cute E and me. Thursday I got to play Starwars with Mr. G. SO FUN! And he even let me be the good guy. I was to protect Baby Luke (Miss A) and Princess Leah (Cute E). I am happy to report that I did protect the Baby Luke and Princess Leah. And all is well again in that Galaxy Far Far away...

Scentsy Scent

You know how you can hear a song or smell a scent and it brings you back in time? Well my new scentsy scent Black Raspberry Vanilla - makes me think of these dolls. I liked playing with them because they smelled oh so yummy!

Spring Colors

Here is a picture of my cute friends and me at the little Egg Hunt we planned (with the help of many others). I am so glad that they had their cameras ready to take a picture of us in our spring colors! Thanks ladies it was super fun to plan this party with you - I would plan with you anytime!

Easter

We had many Easter activities this week! Starting last weekend with a sing-a-long get together at our neighborhood community building. It was a fun way to kick off the Easter festivities. We met up with our friends there, Geoff, Elizabeth and Daniel. Miss M had lot's of fun dancing around with them and Miss A got to meet the "Easter Bunny".

Thursday - my mom flew in from SLC. We love it when she comes to visit us. And as always I had a million and one things going on while she was here. I have a new calling at church - serving in the relief society. We had an enrichment activity that night. As luck would have it K also flew home in time to help with the kids not just ours, but other sisters in the church who needed a babysitter. It was a fun evening of doing a couple service projects, celebrating the Relief Society's 166th birthday and visiting with the other women in the church.

Friday we went to our friends house for a oh so yummy tortilla soup (so great after all the snow)
and filled the eggs for our egg hunt Saturday morning - Stacy or shall I call her Martha Stewart had Bunny cakes for us to decorate and cookies - I think I ate too many cookies and had a sugar headache...(the pics of Miss M's bunny cake are in the slide show)

Saturday evening (after I finished writing my talk for sacrament meeting) We had fun decorating eggs - I love doing this with Miss M - she is so creative! And Miss A enjoyed trying to eat one of the eggs too.
(pictures are our of order - the egg hunt happened before we dyed our eggs...)

This week my friends and I planned the Nursery Easter egg hunt - in spite of the 6 inches of snow that was dropped in a couple of hours on Friday, we were still able to have the hunt - we just moved it inside. I love a good egg hunt, working with fabulous friends and kids and having a very successful activity! Thanks so much to all those who helped out, for all the great food, the conversation with friends and the cute little kids!
(Wish i had a picture of my girlfriends who I did this activity with - couldn't find my camera AGAIN!)

Miss A had a great time too - sitting in the egg bin and gumming the plastic eggs to her hearts content!

Here we are checking out Miss M's finds

Miss M and Miss A enjoying the egg bin together

Easter Sunday, K and I sang in the ward choir I also spoke in sacrament meeting. I was super nervous, yet glad for the opportunity to speak in church. Preparing my talk reminded me of the true meaning of Easter, the Savior and what He did for us.
Miss M and Miss A wore matching dresses - these dresses belonged to my niece and the little girl I use to nanny. From 8 years ago! Who knew that 1. I would end up with both dresses 2. I would have two girls and 3. that they would be able to wear the dresses - they looked super cute if I say so myself!

To avoid making our busy Sunday morning even more crazy - the Easter Bunny came while we were at church - When we came home Miss M was so excited to see her basket full of goodies this year the EB brought lot's of books! EB must have hit a Schloastic book fair!
Miss M LOVES all the books especially the I Spy early readers...Miss A enjoyed her new toys and her baby food - is the EB smart or what!!! *these pictures are also on the slide show...
Then on to the feast...
we had an oh so good dinner prepared by many hands! It was so great to spend this
holiday with friends.

Hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful Easter too!

Because we had SOOO many pictures and I could not post them all, I made a
slide show enjoy!!

St. Patricks day we went to our friends house and had a Green FHE. It was a lot of fun with lot's of friends, tons of green treats and Krazy Khania even got a spiritual message in. After our FHE lesson we enjoyed more green food, and lots of laughter. Here are just a few pictures from that night - I missed the group picture of all the adults in green and the one of the cute babies playing together

Purple day

One of my favorite things to do is to try and dress the girls in matching - or as close as I can get to matching outfits, especially on Sundays. Today was purple day and I just happened to have a purple shirt and K put on his purple tie and my Friend just happened to have her camera at church today and took some fun pictures of us! (boy there are a lot of AND's in that last sentence)
Thanks Sarah!

the dress Miss A is wearing Miss M had her three month pictures taken in
it - so fun to see her wearing the same clothes

St. Patrick Day Cuppycakes

Here is my Mom's (secret) recipe...
St. Patrick Day Cupcakes

1 3/4 cup flour
1 box (4 serving) pistachio pudding (jello instant) *
3/4 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1/4 tsp vanilla

1 can cream cheese frosting (or flavor that you like)
- you can also add green food coloring to the frosting - make it even more festive : )
  • mix ingredients together
  • put cupcake mix into baking pans
  • bake at 375 degrees for 18-20 minutes
  • let cool
  • frost
  • add green sprinkles and/or green m&m's to the top
(remember that they do have bags of ALL green m&m's -
I have only found them at CVS)

*you don't have to use the pistachio pudding, especially if you or someone
you love has a nut allergy. The pudding is to make the cupcakes green - you can just use
green food coloring which I do to add a bit more green.

EAT, SHARE, AND ENJOY!!!

Family - Isn't it about TIME

After pretty much spending the week at home because of the sickies...we decided to have a fun family day.
We started the day off with seeing our tax guy at H&R block ( i know you are thinking how is that fun, but really they make taxes so worry free we like it - plus learning that we are getting a return...thanks Miss A for being another dependant!) We enjoyed the nice warm (well warmer than it's been) weather by walking around down town Evanston then decided to have a breakfast at IHOP. Miss M wanted a doughnut so Daddy took her to Dunkin to pick out one of her choice. Once inside IHOP she wanted her eggs, bacon, and pancakes - which she ate almost all of!
After our breaky we decided to hit all the thrift stores/2nd hand stores we could hit in one day. K took us down to Andersonville (in Chicago) to check out the Brown Elephant - we took advantage of the warm weather again and walked around down there. I am loving this spring weather...we headed back up to Evanston to look around at the shops up here. Miss M found some great beanie babies for 50 cents. And K found some cute jean skirts for Miss M. We even ran into some of our friends along the way - with this nice weather everyone wanted to be out!!
We ended our fun family day by heading over to the beach. We got some great pictures too.

**by the way - we have found out that one of our favorite children's' 2nd hand store 'Hand me downs' is relocating to down town Evanston. They will be moving April 1 - just an FYI for those of you who shop there...

Miss M's new thing is to NOT let me take pictures of her, so
I have to just point and shoot hoping to get a good shot of
her, I'd have to say these on the run one's turned out pretty good!

*** we are taking a marriage class with some other couples at church, this week our teacher asked us to work on one thing that would make our home life better. K's goal was to give me more time as in time just for me- this week was a hard week for us to work on our goals as everyone was sick - but he did give me some time here and there maybe not as much as he would have liked to...looking back on this week I see that there was lot's of time - not time for me, but time together. Reading books, talking, playing games (Miss M's new favorite name-that-tune and she ROCKS!!), breakfasts, scripture study, spending a whole day together...I think that is my favorite kind of TIME, I wouldn't trade this kind of TIME for anything!!! So thanks K from the bottom of my heart for giving me TIME this week!!!
(I let K blog about how I did on my goal...see if he noticed because I didn't tell him what my goal was)

I Heart Water

Miss A's new love - drinking - well slobbering all
over our drinking glass. She tries really hard but mostly
she ends up all wet as well as my pant leg.
here are some cute pics K took of her today.

oh, I like straws too - except when the poke the
roof of my mouth.
