Utah

Here are our Utah pictures, just so you can see that I actually did do more than just pass kidney stones (although that and Miss A not wanting to sleep did hinder the vacation a little)

Having Fun with Cousins

We went on a Treasure Hunt
SO FUN!!!
We followed a map, found clues and Miss M found
the treasure.

Birthday Parties and Bowling

Finally Meeting up with Lynsey!
hopefully next time I see Little E, I can hold him -I didn't
want to share germs...

and yes, I would still love to go back and get some Cafe Rio...and next time I hope to visit more friends (Sorry Mariah!)
FYI, we are heading out some time in Feb. for the Draper Temple open house.

And we're back

Utah was beautiful! The fall colors on the trees in mountains were breath taking especially when those mountains were covered in snow....(sad that I left my camera behind for that trip.)

We had a great time but it's good to be back. I ate Cafe Rio as much as I could. I tried the salad every which way and I think my favorite is with no meat at all. Oh, just thinking about it makes me want one now... Can I possibly wait until February?

Here are a few pictures I did take.

at the pumpkin patch

(this picture was taken on a treasure hunt- it was for my nephews birthday)

WARNING ABOUT NEXT PICTURE!!!!

One of the very first things I did when I got to Utah was pass a HUGE kidney stone. And I took a picture of it to remind myself of how awful I felt for three weeks (plus) trying to pass the dumb thing!

I am sorry if this grosses you out - but really I did need to blog about it.

Better and more fun pictures to come!!! Promise - let me get through Miss A's big day tomorrow.

Somewhere Over the Mountains

We are having a GREAT time in Utah. Enjoying Cafe Rio - I had Arctic Circle for the FIRST time. Stopped in a Roberts found some REALLY cute fall decorations. Even found my way back to my moms house from the hospital after her surgery - with out getting lost (and this was my first time driving in Utah.)

Wish I had remembered to bring my camera cord so I could post pictures of our trip so far - guess we will just have to wait till we get home - there are some cute ones (if i say so myself) with Cousins and a pumpkin patch. Miss M and Miss A's first time to Chuck E Cheese. Miss A caught with a box of chocolates and even pictures of the HUGE kidney stone I passed. (picture a corn nut - not too far off from that - just a bit smaller).

Tomorrow I will FINALLY meet Ethan my Bff's brand new baby. We will also get to spend some time with Keenan's brother his wife and son!! Plus celebrate some birthdays - Brayden, Aiden and Miss A. (I need more time here in Utah - the week is going by too fast...)

I also found more videos of Keenan at the Tiki Terrace. He is singing the popular Iz song Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
(it takes a while for the video camera to finally find Keenan - but at least it still sounds good) K always sings this song for Miss M.

Also Keenan flew in tonight to join us for the weekend. Thanks Miyuki for picking him up at the airport!

May 17, 2008 The Polka dot Wedding

I finally found my camera cord and was able to down load all 500 some odd pictures. Here are the pictures I (or my sister Jesica) took at my sister Sarah's wedding.
Her theme was black and white polka dots

Miss M the flower girl
- she really didn't know what she was doing, and then all these people staring at her - but she still looks pretty! I love the look of determination on her face
and the flowers flung over her shoulder - I also think the man in the back who is watching her has such a sweet look on his face

The Beautiful Bride (my sister Sarah) and my mom walking in

Sarah and her hubby to be Jason - their Bishop married them - his ceremony was so beautiful!
I was very touched by all of his words to them.

Our Little family - my sister Jesica took several pictures - this was the one where everyone was looking and Miss A wasn't eating the flowers

Miss M and daddy K

Kisses

Look closely at the fish - they are called Mickey Mouse fish, can you see why?

Getting some creative pictures of Miss A
her little bloomers were so cute i wanted pictures of her in them with the flowers
thanks Jes - they turned out super cute!

Miss A with the Brides bouquet

Another of Miss A - mostly I had pictures of Miss A this day, Miss M was too busy running around with all the children, who wants to sit still for pictures on a beautiful day anyway!!

My baby sister Jesica and Miss A
and you can see my sister Sarah in the back getting pictures taken...

Gamma and Miss A

The flower girls and the bride -
the younger blonde is Madison, my sisters new niece - oh could she pose! She is super cute! And the other blonde (next to Miss M) is my sisters new step-daughter Morgan and she is just a sweetie too -
Miss M wanted to be with her the whole time!

The two boys in this picture are my sisters new step-sons, they are pretty cute too!

I love this picture of Miss M - she was done having her pictures taken! Let me at the pinata she says! (My sister had a pinata there for the little kids - cute idea!)

Here's my hair - my sister took us to have our hair done for the wedding the hairdresser was super sweet. (i know using sweet a lot) but it was great to get to know her and watch her work magic on your hair - I should get her information to put a plug in for her too!

ok her name was CHELSA (who did our hair) and she works at studio247 in Salt Lake City
click here to go to the web site

I KNEW my child would end up in the creek at some point, at least she waited until the very end! This little creek was running through the back yard of the house where the wedding took place, it was such a beautiful setting and their were mountains all around! After the wedding
reception was done, those little mickey mouse fish - went in this creek!

trying to get in the mini water fall

and this is what my hair looked like after I took it down -
wish i could get curls like this more often! LOVED IT!!
and of course there are a ton more pictures, but these were the better ones...

Utah - Church Museum

One of the fun things we did on our walks down to Temple Square ( my mom lives blocks away) was visit the Church Museum. We didn't see all the things there - our goal was to visit the display for the children - the I am a child of God exhibit. It was so sweet! Miss M and A had a great time as did my mom and me. Miss M's favorite thing to do was hang out in the nursery part of the exhibit. She loved playing with the dolls, washing them, dressing them and rocking them. They had a Tree of Life display, CTR rubbings of all different languages, dress up for a nativity and lots of other fun things. We spent two hours there, every minute wonderful. If you happen to be in the area, I recommend going!

Miss A standing by the Nativity -were you could dress up to be a shepherd, angel, or wise-man

Miss M doing a CTR rubbing

rocking the new baby

Miss A thought she would take a turn too - she was pretty cute in the rocking chair with a baby not much smaller than herself!

Utah cont. day 2

Day two we woke up to snow snow snow! K had to catch a flight back home for jury duty. But we made it to the airport - and I made it home
(my mom's place) even if I was "white knuckling" my mom's steering wheel the whole way back*.
I had not packed any snow clothes or heavy jackets. Not wanting to be completely "snowed" in for the day I borrowed my mom's boots layered the girls up and we made our way to Temple Square. Miss M loved looking at all the snow covered flowers, the water, taking pictures. We found a place for lunch (McDonald's - phew!) Then continued enjoying our walk. By this time all the snow was melting and we were taking off our many layers. Spring weather in Utah - who knew it was so unpredictable! Miss M and I enjoyed the rest of the afternoon back at Grandma's house playing.
Miss M and A had most of my undivided attention through this whole week because I didn't have a cell phone, internet, cable tv or a car to drive. It was refreshing for all of us I think!

*I have driven in snow lots of times but there is something different about driving in a blizzard, no plowed roads and using your mom's new car

Utah Posts Delays

SO, I was hoping to blog more about our Utah trip - but all my pictures are on my lap top, and K takes that to work with him...and well it just throws off my groove a bit. Someday I will post more about our trip - here is a little sneak peek...(I took these from my sisters FACE BOOK account that is why I have these pictures...)
While we were in Utah, my little sister Sarah had her bridal pictures taken...here are just a few of the many. Her photographer was great! You can check out Jessie Lynn's photo blog here.
And her flowers were gorgeous!

Isn't Wedding planning fun?

Utah - day one

Sunday our first official day in Utah, I went to church with my mom. I LOVE going to her ward. It meets in the Joseph Smith Memorial building in Temple Square - it is SO beautiful especially walking through the temple gardens and seeing all the beautiful spring flowers!

Miss M stayed home with Daddy, her pink eye not better at all, and in both eyes...

While my mom, Miss A and I were enjoying Church, K and Miss M were playing with the fun toys my mom has - she is a kindergarten teacher and has lots of fun things to play with. One of Miss M's favorite was an alphabet puzzle. She really enjoyed spelling/sounding out words. Between one of the hours of church I called to see how she was feeling and she said "Great! I just spelled DUCKLING." And K happened to snap a picture of her telling me...So Cute. I am pretty proud of that little speller.

She also sounded out the word ELAPHANT - I like how she spelled it E-L-A-F-I-N-T!

Miss A was good during church - I think she loved all the attention from all the Grandma and Grandpa's in my moms ward - the average age in her ward is 75!

Miss M and A modeling their matching shirts...

After church, we came home and enjoyed my Mom's crock pot stew. Then we just enjoyed our Sunday afternoon visiting, watching videos and hanging out with my sister, K's brother also stopped in to say hello - and to meet Miss A for the first time...
