One afternoon while I was taking a MUCH NEEDED NAP! Keenan showed the girls how to fold origami. They had so much fun and keep asking when they can fold some more. These are the frogs they made, after they were done making them, the had a jumping race to see which frog could jump highest, farthest etc. I was woken up to squeals of excitement.

Happy Birthday - you big kid!
How many 35 year olds get to celebrate with Chuck E Cheese? This big kid did! Miss M wanted to take Daddy to Chuck e cheese for his birthday. And what better way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon then doing just that!?!?! I even ordered a cake and had Chuck E deliver it to our table. A FUN time was had by all! Thanks Keenan for being a good sport on your birthday. (hope you are still enjoying your Ukulele!)

Daddy-Daughter-Daughter date

Keenan took the girls out on a surprise date - or as miss M called it "a Daddy-Daughter-Daughter-date". They went to see Toy Story 3 and then enjoyed a YUMMY dessert at Chili's. Fun was had by all. And Keenan said that by the time he was done taking pictures, there wasn't much left of the dessert... Moral of the story, You snooze you loose...

Paging Keenan to the ER

I Love hospital shows. I remember watching them when I was little with my mom even.
NOW, I get to hear about exciting real life ER stories (names have been changed or not even given to protect privacy). Keenan has enjoyed working in the ER. Its pretty similar to the airlines so far. Sometimes he even catches himself calling the patients passengers. Or when asked where he eats his lunch its in the crew lounge instead of the employee lounge. He has not had a trauma as of yet.
Or, he gets called in to work. Now instead of going in for stand by and flying to Germany, Paris, Japan or Iowa. He walks a block to the ER.
We were also able to attend the Holiday Party. It was pretty fun. Keenan and I have never been to an employee party. Guess our jobs just didn't have them.
He danced A LOT with the ladies. I was happy to sit and watch. Also I think we were the only ones NOT drinking that night.
Unfortunately I did get to see some of these fun people in action the next day, I say unfortunately because I had to take my sister Jesica to the ER. She had kidney stones. It was pretty entertaining to hear about the party the next day especially because I knew what they were talking about.

Hip - hip HOORAY!
Just a quick post to let you know that Keenan graduated from his BNAT (CNA) course at Oakton college tonight. He was also the student speaker. I/we are SO SO proud of Keenan and the new path he is on. His instructors that I met tonight just gushed with wonderful things about Keenan and what a great field of work Nursing will be for him. Now, he just has a couple of weeks to enjoy no school before he starts up again in the fall. 2 semesters of pre-req's and then nursing school. Congratulations Keenan we are so proud of you.I will post pictures soon - we are still house sitting and I didn't bring along my camera cord to down load my pictures.
hope you are all enjoying the summer. I hope to make it to the beach at least once. Now that Miss M is done with camp (last day today - so sad) we might have more time to head over to
the great Lake Michigan.

What else we have been up to

I have also been making more hair clips for the girls. Now that Miss A finally has hair long enough to put pony tails in its fun to add cute hair bows. (she has started to leave them in a little longer too!) And with all the fun bow choices, I don't mind that Miss M wants her hair done in a pony tail everyday. I even enjoy adding one to my pony tail.
Keenan is doing great in school and really enjoys it. He is almost done with his CNA 10 week course, then he start the fall classes. He also really enjoys is Japanese language class he decided to take. I am very proud of him and what he is accomplishing!

Daddy's Birthday
June 12

We had a quiet celebration for Keenan's birthday. K's big present from us was a pick up put into his ukulele. (He's in heaven!) We also got him a few little power snacks for studying and weekend flights. We hung out at the park, enjoyed a backyard BBQ and Jesica made his favorite cake - German chocolate with extra frosting. YUM!
Happy Birthday Daddy - WE LOVE YOU!!!

8 is Great
Today K and I celebrated our eighth wedding anniversary.
We didn't have any plans to do anything special, just hang out with the girls and my grandma.
Lucky for us, my friend called me to see if Miss M could come over for a play date, she also offered to watch Miss A so that K and I could get some lunch. FLAT TOP HERE WE COME!
After lunch we picked up my Granny then the girls and headed out to the mall so my Granny could use her gift cards. We were spoiled by Granny as usual - she got K a new suit and I got a new purse - (remember my spilled milk purse - well I just did it again on Sunday luckily it was just water, but it was time for a new purse!)
Our wonderful neighbors upstairs (we really are so lucky to have them!) offered to watch the girls so we could go out for dinner. HOORAY! Two meals out with NO kids in one day! HEAVEN.
K and I went to Maggiano's had a scrumptious dinner. It was so nice to sit and relax, have an adult uninterrupted conversation. It was also nice to come home to two happy girls.
(Thanks Lyn for the gift card!)
During dinner we talked about our 8 years, the highs and lows. Our blessings. Our struggles. We agreed that this has been one of our most stressful years of marriage, but yet we also agreed that we have grown a lot together during the last year. We do have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to.
I also need to mention Miss M. She was so excited that today was our anniversary. She kept wishing us "Happy Anniversary." Making us cards. Leaving little candy's and notes. She is such a sweet little girl. She made our day extra special.
Thanks K for 8 great years!

Somewhere Over the Mountains
We are having a GREAT time in Utah. Enjoying Cafe Rio - I had Arctic Circle for the FIRST time. Stopped in a Roberts found some REALLY cute fall decorations. Even found my way back to my moms house from the hospital after her surgery - with out getting lost (and this was my first time driving in Utah.)
Wish I had remembered to bring my camera cord so I could post pictures of our trip so far - guess we will just have to wait till we get home - there are some cute ones (if i say so myself) with Cousins and a pumpkin patch. Miss M and Miss A's first time to Chuck E Cheese. Miss A caught with a box of chocolates and even pictures of the HUGE kidney stone I passed. (picture a corn nut - not too far off from that - just a bit smaller).
Tomorrow I will FINALLY meet Ethan my Bff's brand new baby. We will also get to spend some time with Keenan's brother his wife and son!! Plus celebrate some birthdays - Brayden, Aiden and Miss A. (I need more time here in Utah - the week is going by too fast...)
I also found more videos of Keenan at the Tiki Terrace. He is singing the popular Iz song Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
(it takes a while for the video camera to finally find Keenan - but at least it still sounds good) K always sings this song for Miss M.
Also Keenan flew in tonight to join us for the weekend. Thanks Miyuki for picking him up at the airport!

I am very proud of him and GLAD he did go to the Uke Fest

Tag Your It!
So weeks ago my friend tagged me - and I really do love being tagged but truth be told I forgot and then I was reading someone else's blog about being tagged which then reminded me...
so here goes
What is his name? Keenan Kamae
How long have we been married? 8 years on December 30
How long did we date? about a year
How old is he? 32
Who eats more? he does well maybe...
Who said I love you first? He did
Who is taller? K is unless I wear my red high heels
Who sings better? we both love to sing - but he will sing in public I just dream about singing in public, I think we sing pretty good together - he really is the better singer...
Who is smarter? I think both - he is better at figuring things out and way better at math!
Whose temper is worse? I would say his - if you can believe that ; )
Who pays the bills? It's a joint effort
Who does the laundry? Again that is a joint effort - I use to love doing it, now I dread bumping into my neighbor so I am not as quick doing it as I use to be...
Who cooks dinner? We both do - dinner is more my thing - but he is great at breakfast!
Who drives when together? We take turns - bad weather he drives, but if he is tired, I drive
Who is more stubborn? He is by far!
Who is the first to admit when wrong? you know, I don't know...
Who wears the pants in the family? never really thought about that, he may be the head of the family, but I am the neck, the neck that turns the head - isn't that from My Big Fat Greek Wedding loved that quote!
Who mows the lawn? K does, he loves yard work!!
Who kissed who first? He did
Who asked who out first? He did
Who proposed? K did - In Hawaii!
What is my favorite thing about him? I love to sing with him - that's my favorite thing!
