We started the day off with seeing our tax guy at H&R block ( i know you are thinking how is that fun, but really they make taxes so worry free we like it - plus learning that we are getting a return...thanks Miss A for being another dependant!) We enjoyed the nice warm (well warmer than it's been) weather by walking around down town Evanston then decided to have a breakfast at IHOP. Miss M wanted a doughnut so Daddy took her to Dunkin to pick out one of her choice. Once inside IHOP she wanted her eggs, bacon, and pancakes - which she ate almost all of!
After our breaky we decided to hit all the thrift stores/2nd hand stores we could hit in one day. K took us down to Andersonville (in Chicago) to check out the Brown Elephant - we took advantage of the warm weather again and walked around down there. I am loving this spring weather...we headed back up to Evanston to look around at the shops up here. Miss M found some great beanie babies for 50 cents. And K found some cute jean skirts for Miss M. We even ran into some of our friends along the way - with this nice weather everyone wanted to be out!!
We ended our fun family day by heading over to the beach. We got some great pictures too.
**by the way - we have found out that one of our favorite children's' 2nd hand store 'Hand me downs' is relocating to down town Evanston. They will be moving April 1 - just an FYI for those of you who shop there...
Miss M's new thing is to NOT let me take pictures of her, so
I have to just point and shoot hoping to get a good shot of
her, I'd have to say these on the run one's turned out pretty good!
*** we are taking a marriage class with some other couples at church, this week our teacher asked us to work on one thing that would make our home life better. K's goal was to give me more time as in time just for me- this week was a hard week for us to work on our goals as everyone was sick - but he did give me some time here and there maybe not as much as he would have liked to...looking back on this week I see that there was lot's of time - not time for me, but time together. Reading books, talking, playing games (Miss M's new favorite name-that-tune and she ROCKS!!), breakfasts, scripture study, spending a whole day together...I think that is my favorite kind of TIME, I wouldn't trade this kind of TIME for anything!!! So thanks K from the bottom of my heart for giving me TIME this week!!!
(I let K blog about how I did on my goal...see if he noticed because I didn't tell him what my goal was)
