Tooth fairy and Flowers

Miss M had a tooth growing in all crazy which was causing her baby tooth to not be loose at all! You know it's bad when they ASK to go to the dentist. So we made an appointment to see the dentist and this brave girl got her tooth pulled! She was amazing. And so excited to loose her first tooth. We have this cute little tooth fairy box that our friends Grandma made for Miss M.

The tooth fairy left special quarters for miss M (Hawaiian quarters) and left her room a sparkly mess of fairy dust. It was in Miss M's hair, Miss A's hair, all over the dressers, pillows, beds. Silly little fairy!
We went to the local farmers market and Miss M was in LOVE with all the beautiful flowers. So, with her money she bought these lovely flowers. And we ran into our friends their girls just happened to be wearing purple too. It was a great family Saturday.

Origami

One afternoon while I was taking a MUCH NEEDED NAP! Keenan showed the girls how to fold origami. They had so much fun and keep asking when they can fold some more. These are the frogs they made, after they were done making them, the had a jumping race to see which frog could jump highest, farthest etc. I was woken up to squeals of excitement.

Back to school recycle shopping

While Keenan is going to school, we are cutting back on a lot of things, ok wait, we are thrift store shoppers anyway! It has nothing to do with Keenan going back to school. We really like to see what treasures we can find in the stores, plus it's a way for us to be "Green" reduce, reuse, recycle. And, now that Miss M is in the 'big girl' section of the clothes stores the prices have gone way up. So, I don't mind finding this great stuff at the thrift stores. Some of the items we found still had tags on them! So, here are the clothes we found for her while she was at Grandma and Grandpa's. She was so excited to come home and have a fashion show.
A few days later on HALF OFF MONDAYS (at Unique) we took her thrifting and she found some more cute tops!

Sweet Girl

My mom and sister were kind enough to take my kids away for a few days to hang out at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Keenan and I got to enjoy a staycation at home! It was wonderful to spend that time together considering how busy our life is about to get.
When my girls came home they had LOTS of drawings, paintings, cards etc for me about how much they loved me and missed me. Then Miss M hands me this gift bag from Hallmark and says, "I even bought it with my very own money!" She was just so proud of this surprise for me!
I opened the box and inside was the pineapple "welcome angel" from willow tree that I have been wanting for a LONG time. Jesica told me the story of how Miss M walked all over the mall
looking at things for herself and had finally decided on Build A Bear. On the way to the store she saw the Hallmark shop and asked Jesica to bring her in there because "that is where Mommy gets her dolls from!!!" She walked up and down the display until she found the Welcome Angel and then used her money to buy it for me. It's really one of the nicest things that someone has done for me. I love that little girl and her appreciation of showing others her love.
And not only had she got be the angel but she also made one that looked like me!
What a sweet little angel I have.

Just A Little Brown Gal...

I know it's one of the cheesy or cute things, you either like it or don't, but I love it when my kids match or when Keenan or I can match them too. (Most of the time I do it unintentional).

Keenan's last week of summer vacation he and the girls dressed alike a lot - but I didn't think to get more pictures. I must have been having too much fun hanging out with my little family. : )

Spreading a little ALOHA at summer camp

Miss M goes to this great little summer camp. We love it because the counselors are awesome, they have fun activities, a lot of her friends from school and the neighborhood go AND it's walking distance from our house.

Again, they asked Mr. K to entertain the kids at camp. There was two encore songs, for the kids that were in Kindergarten with Miss M to sing "Spread a little Aloha" and "Somewhere over the Rainbow." It was cute to see the kids get up and sing and dance, as always Mr. K does a great job of entertaining and I was proud of my girls for getting up in front of their friends to SING and DANCE. I love that they got the entertainment bug from their dad.

Little Dude

Little Dude enjoying his first ever drive thru hamburger! Steak and Shake has these great little sliders it was the perfect fit for Little G. He LOVED every bite.
More proof that 1. I am not a very good babysitter (on top of art table eating a marker)
OR 2. I am the best Aunt ever and let my Little Dude do whatever and explore whatever he wants. (I didn't get pictures of the play dough or how he ate his lunch I don't want to let his mom know we have too much fun)
I like to think #2 And notice, even his tongue is the color of the marker!

UGH, with this heat and humidity there has been nothing to do but be at the pool.
Thank goodness!!!

More Miss M isms

*I know I have posted these M-isms on my facebook, but for those of you who do not do facebook I thought I'd put them on the blog too.

When asked about her favorite part of the day " I loved breakfast. Honey nut cheerios is so delish! Heavenly honey and yummy almond cruchiness."

after telling Miss M a joke she said " Momma, you are so amazing, you know the bestest stuff EVER, I wish I could tell jokes like you!"

While watching Wizards of Waverly place "Mom, did you see what she is wearing, it is SOOOO CUUUTE, I mean she is SO fashionable, I could just die."

Bay Beach Fun!

When visiting Green Bay in the summer, I highly recommend this FUN little amusement park tucked away by the Bay. They rides are cheap, short lines, cotton candy, blue slushies and other snacks or food are all pretty inexpensive as well. They have a HUGE slide (that I failed to take pictures of - but K, J, M , M and Little G had lot's of fun on it!) Rides for younger and older. And much to the girls delight, PONY rides!

The first ride they went on was the merry-go-round. We thought little G was having a great time, until we say the tears. He became more brave as the rides went on. But mostly he was content to sit in the stroller, drink his blue slushie and watch. It was fun for me to see the pink bunny and the rainbow striped zebra they always were my favorites to ride when I was little.

THEN of course the TRAIN that rides along the bay. When it's HOT you can't beat cooling off on this relaxing ride.

WOO-HOO!!!! Miss M was TALL enough to ride the swings! Which I believe they rode a couple of times. She LOVED it, and later on, when I needed her to help with Little G on rides, she was a bit disappointed when Jesica and Morgan went to ride the swings (with out her) BUT lucky for her, Jesica and Morgan held her a place in line and she was able to ride the swings yet again .

While the 'biggers' were riding the swings, Miss A and I headed to the race track where she was first in line and was able to pick her PURPLE car! She learned that if she moved the stirring wheel she could make her car go in and out.

After going AROUND AND AROUND AND AROUND Miss A was a little dizzy and feeling a little "urpy" so she stayed on the ground with Little G while the others went UP - UP - UP in their Helicopters. Keenan joined Miss M and Morgan on this fun ride.

And here is little G totally content to eat, drink and be merry.

our favorite quote of the day was by Miss A - "Daddy look at my little ponies! They are like my little pony underwear!" Miss A and Miss M had lot's of fun riding those little ponies. Miss M got the biggest one and was the leader of the pack.
And here were the last rides we got on camera before the battery died. Keenan and I both have pictures of us when we were little riding in lady bugs. The cool thing - these are the little lady bugs I rode in! Little G LOVED the boat ride and kept standing up and going "oooooh, oooohhh" and pointing. Miss M LOVED the bumper cars too.

So when next planning a weekend get-a-way we recommend Bay Beach, in Green Bay, WI.
*also in the same area is Wild Life Sanctuary, home to rescued wild animals and migrating geese and ducks you can feed the geese/ducks year round. And Kastle Park which has race cars, bumper boats and mini golf.

Little G

It's been a summer full of parks. Little G LOVES the swings. Here are a few cute shots that his Mommy took. His shirt Say's "Mommy's Super Hero"

Hopper

Keenan was cleaning the yard one day and discovered a tiny bunny. So he and Jesica made a home for it, and the girls took care of it for a couple of days (til we found out that is was already big enough to be on it's own). We released Hopper back into the wild. Miss M loved that little bunny and was pretty heart broken. BUT she has spotted him a few times hopping around are yard and we are all happy to see him hopping around.

First Piano Recital

Miss M had her first piano recital this summer. She is LOVING piano. She practices whenever she can and really enjoys making up her own tunes.

after the recital, Miss A went and played her piece. Variations on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, which she also sang.

Happy Birthday Miss M

Miss M's 6 birthday was celebrated in Hawaii! How fun to have a birthday in Hawaii! We went to this fun ice cream/dinner place called Farrells. It's where Keenan and siblings would have birthday parties growing up. They sang a fun rendition of If your Happy and you know it to Miss M. "if it's your birthday and you know it clap your hands" it was cute, and she was a good sport.

Happy Birthday - you big kid!

How many 35 year olds get to celebrate with Chuck E Cheese? This big kid did! Miss M wanted to take Daddy to Chuck e cheese for his birthday. And what better way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon then doing just that!?!?! I even ordered a cake and had Chuck E deliver it to our table. A FUN time was had by all! Thanks Keenan for being a good sport on your birthday. (hope you are still enjoying your Ukulele!)

Bugs

I am not a fan of bugs, and have been known to freak out when I am BY MYSELF when there are bugs running a muck (ESPECIALLY ANTS HATE THEM!).
BUT I don't want my girls to be afraid of bugs so I always take
the opportunity to show them how cool bugs are. Like this pretty little thing! I love the "face" on it. I was glad that Keenan found it and we took lots of pictures. I've only ever seen the left over ugly brown shell, not this pretty green bug that comes out.

Daddy-Daughter-Daughter date

Keenan took the girls out on a surprise date - or as miss M called it "a Daddy-Daughter-Daughter-date". They went to see Toy Story 3 and then enjoyed a YUMMY dessert at Chili's. Fun was had by all. And Keenan said that by the time he was done taking pictures, there wasn't much left of the dessert... Moral of the story, You snooze you loose...

Mommy Daughter Craft Time

Since Miss M was little I have always let her play with my craft things. She has created many cute scrap book pages with my left overs and what ever other art things she could come up with. SO it should be no surprise to me that she loves to make cards! And I think she does a pretty swell job at it too.

Miss M created this cute Friends card by once again playing with my left over scraps. I thought the idea was so cute I had to make my own! We have had several more late night craft nights and look forward to MANY MORE!!

Catching A Wave

One of the things Keenan loves to do in Hawaii is catch some waves. And this time he did it with Little G too. I think they both LOVED it. Little G's mom was having heart palpitations, but because I had been through this with my 2 girls, I knew he was in good hands. Little G didn't even get his hair wet while catching those waves! And their outfits matched too - not even planned.

Summer Camps

SO far the summer is off to a fun start. Spending days at the park and pool. Or with friends. Miss M and Miss A have enjoyed their summer camps. And sometimes are days are spent inside, watching a movie,playing board games or having a candle light picnic (because the power has gone out) while listening to huge thunder storms raging out side. One night we even had a double rainbow in our back yard!
