Bugs

I am not a fan of bugs, and have been known to freak out when I am BY MYSELF when there are bugs running a muck (ESPECIALLY ANTS HATE THEM!).
BUT I don't want my girls to be afraid of bugs so I always take
the opportunity to show them how cool bugs are. Like this pretty little thing! I love the "face" on it. I was glad that Keenan found it and we took lots of pictures. I've only ever seen the left over ugly brown shell, not this pretty green bug that comes out.

Daddy-Daughter-Daughter date

Keenan took the girls out on a surprise date - or as miss M called it "a Daddy-Daughter-Daughter-date". They went to see Toy Story 3 and then enjoyed a YUMMY dessert at Chili's. Fun was had by all. And Keenan said that by the time he was done taking pictures, there wasn't much left of the dessert... Moral of the story, You snooze you loose...

Mommy Daughter Craft Time

Since Miss M was little I have always let her play with my craft things. She has created many cute scrap book pages with my left overs and what ever other art things she could come up with. SO it should be no surprise to me that she loves to make cards! And I think she does a pretty swell job at it too.

Miss M created this cute Friends card by once again playing with my left over scraps. I thought the idea was so cute I had to make my own! We have had several more late night craft nights and look forward to MANY MORE!!

Catching A Wave

One of the things Keenan loves to do in Hawaii is catch some waves. And this time he did it with Little G too. I think they both LOVED it. Little G's mom was having heart palpitations, but because I had been through this with my 2 girls, I knew he was in good hands. Little G didn't even get his hair wet while catching those waves! And their outfits matched too - not even planned.

Summer Camps

SO far the summer is off to a fun start. Spending days at the park and pool. Or with friends. Miss M and Miss A have enjoyed their summer camps. And sometimes are days are spent inside, watching a movie, playing board games or having a candle light picnic (because the power has gone out) while listening to huge thunder storms raging out side. One night we even had a double rainbow in our back yard!

Here are some pictures of our Farm Field Trip and Bible Camp. (WE HEART BIBLE CAMP!!)

Time Flys

Has it really been since March 8 when I last updated my blog? WOW. Guess that's what happens when your computer crashes and you can not access your pictures. I did have them all backed up - but if there is no computer, that external hard drive just doesn't work so well.

We've all been cRaZy busy!

but we did take a little break to travel to Hawaii for a QUICK and I mean QUICK get-a-way!

(miss A and Little G at our ward Luau)

Jes and K still going to school AND they have just started summer school as Miss A, Miss M and I wrap up our school year.

K is still working at the Hospital, and we have enjoyed visiting him a couple of times as we have had a few emergency's. The staff is all so friendly and have told the girls that you don't need to get "sick" to come and visit Daddy at work. He does get a little down time - stills enjoy entertaining Hawaiian style especially with his SWEET new UKULELE! And he couldn't be prouder when his little girls get up on stage and sway those Hula hips. It's wonderful to see them embracing the Hawaiian culture!

(K enjoying a refreshing pineapple soda at Tiki's in down town Waikiki)

(miss M did a report on Giant clams for school so it was fun to see an actual GIANT Clam! thanks little G for posing for us!)

(celebrated Miss M's 6 b-day in Hawaii at Farrels)

Jes is looking for a job and Little G is enjoying keeping up with his big cousins. He has 3 teeth and should be walking any day now! He also got his FIRST haircut. Uncle buzzed his head.
(Little G and Uncle K catching a wave!)

Miss M has officially graduated from Kindergarten! Her school put on a CUTE graduation. She is so excited for first grade. Is looking forward to camp library reading club, vacation bible camp, piano lessons and her FIRST recital and kicking back this summer.

(Miss M - enjoying her birthday at the BEACH!)

(Happy Graduation Miss M!!)

Miss A loves going to pre-school and I still enjoy being her teacher. Miss A is POTTY TRAINED!!! NO MORE DIAPERS HOORAY! (not that we are excited or anything.)

(Hanging loose in Hawaii)

(sweet sisters)

I am still keeping busy with my church calling in the stake primary, selling Stampin' up, pre-school teacher assistant - I still pick up some of the kids in the "big-blue-bus", and watching kids during the week including my nephew and my own two girls, making cards and catching up on tv shows GLEE, 24 and Vampire Diaries. I am hoping for some major DOWN time this summer!!! Visiting my dear friend in Utah, a GIRLS weekend Get-a-way with some BFF's! And seeing Eclipse with my sis and BFF in Naperville. (just thought I'd give you an idea of what we will be doing in case it's months before you hear from me again!)

PUMP IT UP

We were invited to our friends little girls FIRST birthday party. Never having been to a pump it up party I didn't know what to expect - But It was SUPER fun! The party had the arena all to ourselves. Miss A wasn't so sure about these big jumpy things, but once she went down a slide, there was NO going back, she just had SO much fun. The next day Miss A asked if we could go jump again. I'm thinking we might need to check it out again, soon!

Miss M didn't even hesitate to climb the rock wall. She's pretty awesome if I say so myself *wink

And what would a birthday party be with out a cute fairy dress and a fun balloon?!?!

(I think it's safe to say the adults had as much fun as the kids, if not more!)

Fun had by all!

Walking on frozen water

Yup, it's that cold outside, the lake is all frozen over. For Jesica's birthday we took a walk on the lake. It was fun to walk out on the lake - maybe more fun for Miss M. She can be pretty daring.

I Love these cute picture of Miss M and Cuppy.
they have such a great friendship

I LOVE Light house beach here's some frozen shots of the beach and light house

Spread a Little ALOHA

WE were asked to come up with a song for the kindergartners to sing in their brotherhood assembly. I think that Keenan picked a GREAT song! Miss M and I had fun putting motions to the words. And she even got to sing a solo part. Jesica filmed this for us and was also trying to keep Miss A from running up on stage to join the classes. I needed to be hands and Miss A free so I could show the kids the moves.
We had 2 half hour practices. I think these kids did AWESOME!!! And I am SO proud of Miss M!

Happy LOVE Day

It was fun to make Miss M's valentines this year. Instead of candy we gave her friends pencils.
Miss M also got a special valentine from her friend. She was on cloud 9 the rest of the afternoon.

and as our annual valentine tradition - chocolate covered strawberries. Miss A had SO much fun dipping the strawberries. She has become quite the little helper in the kitchen wanting to do it
all and by herself! I have mixed feelings about my girls growing up, I want them to stay little, but we are having so much fun doing things together I am LOVING watching them discover new things and seeing their faces when they finally get something right or get it done all by themselves. (sigh)

A L O H A reading club

Miss M's other wonderful teacher Mr. New started a reading club a few years ago. He invites the children and parents to have a small breakfast and read books together every other Friday. It's caught on because other classrooms have started to do this as well. This Friday Keenan was in charge. We had an ALOHA Friday theme. Keenan read some fun stories, played is ukulele and taught the kids some fun songs. Ms. Breeden wanted it to be Aloha Friday everyday. ")

here are some pictures of the kids in her class

Oakton Pot Luck Family Tradition Style

We made TONS of Spam Musubi for the Oakton pot luck. Each family was asked to bring a dish that represents their family. Well, how could we NOT bring our Hawaiian fast food?!? And it was a HUGE hit! Keenan was even interviewed by the local cable television.

Miss A and I made the bulletin board, explaining the process of making the spam.
