Hopping Down the Bunny Trail Part 2

April 11, 2009

Our ward (for this church) has an annual Egg hunt. Last couple of years I have put it together with my girlfriends. This year, the wonderful nursery leader and her family hosted it. And HOORAY the weather cooperated well enough that it could be outside! Miss A and I had to stay home because of her pneumonia but K and Miss M sure had a fantastic time. I heard great fun was had by all!

Miss M's first Primary talk

Each Sunday - one of the primary age children (3-11 years of age) has the opportunity to give a talk on a gospel principle in primary opening exercises. This Sunday, Miss M is giving a talk on Tithing and how it helps to build temples. We have been talking all week with her about tithing and temples and what she might want to say. This afternoon I sat down with Miss M (my BIG 4 year old) and we prepared her talk.
Here it is... in her words with just a touch of help from me...

Paying Tithing Helps Build Temples
by Miss M

Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ teach us to do the right things.
We are blessed when we follow the commandments.
One of those commandments is to pay our tithing.
Tithing is one tenth of what we earn.
When we pay our tithing we get many blessings.
When we pay our tithing we are showing faith in the Lord.
Did you know that our tithing is used to help build temples?
It is important to pay our tithing so we can continue to have beautiful temples all over the world.
I am glad for the law of tithing. I am thankful for beautiful Temples.
In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

on the printed out sheet, Miss M and I have picked out pictures that will help prompt her to remember what she would like to say. And one of us (daddy or mommy) can go up and talk with her just in case stage fright.
