Our Little Van Gogh

Marlee has always enjoyed coloring. Just recently I have noticed that her little scribbles are becoming more. We have turned our dinning room wall into her art gallery.
Here are some of her pictures.

(this one is my favorite - Van Gogh is my favorite artist
and Starry Starry Night is my favorite painting by him...)

Marlee's Art Wall

(Just above her head in this picture you can see some of her writing
Marlee, Ava, Mom and Dade (that would be Daddy)
she is quite the little speller now!!)

Marlee's thoughts on Pres. Hinckley

Keenan and I sat down with Marlee and told her that we had some sad yet happy news. We explained to her that President Hinckley passed away and even if we may feel sad, we should also feel happy for him that he is in heaven with Heavenly Father and Jesus and his wife Marjorie and we named a few more. Then Marlee said "and Gus and Jagger are up there too with Pres. Hinckley." (Gus was the dog of the family I nannied for and has recently passed away and Jagger was the frog of this friend.) I love how the minds of little children work and that she actually got it!

Marlee also loves to share the story (that I posted earlier) of how she loved to watch President Hinckley - I am sure if you asked her, she will share it with you.

Aloha ʻoe, aloha ʻoe
E ke onaona noho i ka lipo
One fond embrace,
A hoʻi aʻe au
Until we meet again

Sharing is hard to do

We were at my niece Ella's 2nd birthday party. All the girls were playing dress up and there was the coveted pair of dress up high heels. Marlee finally got them, but then decided to go back into the "jumpy jump" (my sister has one of those big bouncer's in her basement) with the rest of the kids, but she had me watch her shoes saying "Mommy, don't let ANYONE else wear these shoes" and guess what, I wasn't paying attention and another little girl snatched them up. When Marlee got out of the jumpy jump and saw the shoes on the other little girl INSTANT tears. I know mean mom, I had to grab the camera and take pictures of her crying...well then she just got mad. Luckily my sister saved the day by saying it was TIME FOR ICE CREAM! It just goes to show Sharing is hard to do but ice cream fixes everything!

Announcement Pictures

I Love digital cameras- because it took 133 shots to find the "perfect" announcement picture...and then well, I couldn't find just ONE! So here are the runner ups...
and the winners...

I used these last two pictures, because I just couldn't decide....

You know Dasher and Dancer...

But do you recall...

Must Be Santa from Rebekeh on Vimeo.

On our way out of the mall, Marlee saw Santa and just had to sing her song for him...

My Little Climber

Marlee has always been my little climber. Today she showed me some new skills at one of her favorite parks - the "Rock Climbing Park"
She climbed up the rock wall. Glad that I had the camera to capture her big achievement. (Her Uncle Dave would be SO proud!!)
