playdates and playmates

Jesica has been doubly busy lately school full time, work part time and mom full time. But we are so excited that she has a job! She and Keenan are working at the hospital together well the same hospital anyway different floors. With all of our crazy schedules we have had many great friends pick up the slack and watch little dude (or Miss M) while I am at work.
These pictures are from our upstairs neighbor. She had LD for a morning. Her little girl LOVES LD. I just adore these cute pictures of them playing together.

And here are pictures of Miss M reading to our neighbor. We love to go upstairs and visit with them. We are so spoiled to have GREAT upstairs neighbors!

The magic of photo shop

Tonight my neighbors came down to help me touch up my friends wedding pictures. (her photographer did not show up so the guests and to fill in) As we were touching up the photos we got on the subject of how fake pictures can be. How you can take yourself and turn you into something completely different. Then they showed me this You Tube video. It really hit home on how fake those beautiful models/TV/movie actors/actresses/magazines really are.

Talk about an eye opener!

(on the other hand, maybe I could take my really bad Hula videos and have some one photo shop into a really good hula video...)

Our Neighbors know how to party!

Our neighbors next door are so nice!
They always invite us to the family events they have in their back yard. Now I am always up for a fun party - but these are a little out of my comfort zone because my neighbors all speak Spanish - they are from Mexico. Miss M adores the girls and they all play so well together. We have even met up at the pool with them. And their dad has helped me get my van unstuck many a times this past winter! (thanks Oscar!!)
This past Saturday their niece turned 4 years old and was baptized at their church. Afterwards they had a HUGE celebration in their back yard. Lots and lots of yummy HOT (as in spicy) food. And even though I could not understand the majority of what was being said around me, they all made us feel welcome and part of their family.
(I think that is what I love about the Hawaiians too, one big happy Ohana!)
The birthday girl wore this BEAUTIFUL princess dress, they had a jumpy jump and her cake was amazing. Oh and the pinata - it was BIGGER than Miss M and totally stuffed full! At one point the grandpa gathered all the kids, lined them up and started
throwing hand fulls of coins in the air.
A great time had by all! A true Fiesta!!

(HERE is the post) WELL, now multiply that by 10 and that is about how K and I feel about her today. (and now imagine me ranting and raving on and on about her...........GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR......................AHHHHHHHHHH.....................................) thanks for listening I feel so much better!

Do you or have you had a neighbor that was less than neighborly??
Please tell me a neighbor story so I can feel Better!

Snow Days

Last couple of days we have had a big snow fall. So on Friday the girls and I decided to stay home, have a snow day. Good thing because our back alley was pretty well covered in snow and I was tired of shoveling! And just didn't want to think about shoveling to get my car out...
I think Ava appreciated being able to sleep in her bed for ALL of her naps. Marlee enjoyed playing in her Little Mermaid tent from her Aunty Krissy and playing her Scene it Disney DVD game from Aunty Kay. I enjoyed staying in my pajama's ALL day, drinking hot chocolate and NOT having to lug a car seat anywhere - and all the cuddle time I got in with the girls. We were ALL excited to FINALLY have daddy come home - he had been flying all week...makes for a very long week with no daddy around.
Today was a busy Saturday, the girls and I went to a baby shower. Keenan helped our friends move. I was able to watch Pres. Hinckley's funeral service on the internet. Got a good cry in when they played the photo clips at the end and the Mo-tab sang. It was a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. I especially liked Pres. Monson's remarks. I could see and feel the love he had for this man, not just as the Prophet of our church, but as his friend, a life long friend.
Very touching.

This afternoon I bundled up the girls and we headed outside to play in the snow! I accomplished something on my to do list! Ava had lot's of fun being pulled around in the sled. And of course, Keenan went above and beyond to help our upstairs neighbor move her car into the garage...she was in a car accident on Thursday. It was a LOT of work to get that car into the garage. Good thing we have some nice neighbors who saw that we needed help and were more than happy to help us get that car into the garage. (the engine does not work so we had to push it in ourselves - and we also used our jeep and the neighbors that helped were NOT our upstairs neighbor)

Now, I am procrastinating getting the things done I need too! But it just feels good to blog...

THIS IS MY ANGRY FACE!!!!

this is a picture of Marlee's angry face, she took a bunch of paper plates and drew all sorts of faces on them then when Ava is sad she sings to her - if you chance to meet a frown. hmmm, maybe I need to take some advice from my 3 year old...

But my upstairs neighbor makes me have an Angry Face!!!
