Talk about an emotional Sunday. Today I was released from my calling as the 2nd counselor in the Primary presidency. (in our church the children between the ages of 3-11 are in a group called primary). It was so wonderful to serve with these teachers and children the past few years. Especially to serve with the other women in the presidency. I am so thankful for the time that we have spent together and the friendships I have gained from them.
I think the saddest news today was the passing of our Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley. I am not sure that I can put into words what I feel. I am sad, yet I feel peace. I believe it comes from the faith I have in our church, the gospel knowledge, and my belief in life after death. I know we have been greatly blessed by this prophet and the things that he has done while serving the Lord.
This picture was taken in October of 2004 - Marlee's first general conference. Marlee was doing her own little baby thing during conference, then the Prophet came on and she was totally tuned into him. She watched the TV the whole time he spoke, it was the most amazing thing for us to watch. I am so glad that we were able to capture it on camera. A memory to cherish for sure.
